Tee Ball Basics

Tee Ball Basics is for boys and girls 4-5 years old who are first year players and just beginning their Little League experience.  In Tee Ball Basics, the focus is on learning the game of baseball while maximizing the fun for these young players.  Tee Ball Basics will follow a schedule that will allow the players to better understand the fundamentals of the game by having them playing only once per week (instead of the usual two games) giving them more time to focus on practice and getting ready for game day. Each team will play 6 games during the regular season and there is no post season.  The standard Little League diamond (60-foot base paths) and a soft safety baseball is used during play.  Games last for 3 innings and no score is kept.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Tuesday or Thursday each week.

 

 

Tee Ball League

Tee Ball League is for boys and girls 5-6 years old who want to learn continue to expand their knowledge of the game.  In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee.  The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork while still having fun.  No live pitching is permitted in this division. The standard Little League diamond (60-foot base paths) and a soft safety baseball is used during play.  Each team will play 10 games during the regular season and there is no post season.  Games last for 3 innings and no score is kept.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Tuesday and Thursday each week.

 

 

Rookie League

Replacing our Minor League Coach Pitch, Rookie League continues the to teach the players the fundamentals of the game and expands their knowledge by challenging them to hit a pitched ball delivered from a pitching machine. Rookie is typically for boys and girls age 7-8.  Players age 6 are permitted to advance to Rookie League after participation in Tee Ball for a minimum one year and only with approval from Holly Little League.  Players age 9 are permitted to play down to Rookie League with approval from Holly Little League, but will not be eligible for All-Star selection (if they are an All-Star, they shouldn't be playing down).  The standard Little League diamond (60-foot base paths) and a soft safety baseball is used during play.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 6 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Monday and Wednesday each week.

 

 

Baseball Divisions

 

Minor League

Minor League continues the to teach the players the fundamentals of the game and expands their knowledge by challenging them to hit a pitched ball delivered from an opposing player as well as teaching skills required to successfully pitch strikes.  Minor League is typically for players age 9-10.  Players age 8 are permitted to advance to Minor League after participation in Rookie League for a minimum one year and only with approval from Holly Little League.  Players age 11 are permitted to play down to Minor League with approval from Holly Little League, but will not be eligible to pitch, not be selected for All-Star teams, nor District post-season play.  Play becomes more competitive starting at this division.  The standard Little League diamond (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and a regular baseball is used during play.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 6 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  

 

 

Major League

As seen on TV! This is the division of play seen on ESPN during the Little League World Series in Williamsport.  Major League is where the players use everything they've learned to this point and put it into full competitive play.  Major League is typically for players age 11-12.  Players age 10 are permitted to advance to Major League after participation in Minor League for a minimum one year and only with approval from Holly Little League.  The standard Little League diamond (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and a regular baseball is used during play.  Each team will play 14 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 6 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  

 


Intermediate League

Intermediate League is a program for experienced players league-age 11-13 with postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series, offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size and the Junior/Senior League field size opting for intermediate field dimensions (50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths).  Many of the Junior League rules will be used such as runners being permitted to lead off bases, runners may attempt to steal at any time, dropped 3rd strikes, etc.  This Division of baseball will typically play against other Leagues in our District (Waterford, Rochester Hills) meaning that there will be travel games to other cities.  Each team will play 14 games during the regular season with the potential of a post season.  Games last for 7 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.

 

 

Junior League

The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for players 13-14 years old with postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.  This Division of baseball will typically play within the Quadtown association of Little Leagues meaning that there will be travel games to other cities.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 7 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Monday and Wednesday each week.  Junior League Baseball does not begin its season until after school baseball is over (typically the first week of June).

 

 

Senior League

The Senior League Baseball Division is for players 14-16 years old with postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.  This Division of baseball will typically play within the Quadtown association of Little Leagues meaning that there will be travel games to other cities.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 7 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Tuesday and Thursday each week. Senior League Baseball does not begin its season until after school baseball is over (typically the first week of June).

 

 

 

Softball Divisions

 

Minor League

Minor League continues the to teach the players the fundamentals of the game and expands their knowledge by challenging them to hit a pitched ball delivered from an opposing player as well as teaching skills required to pitch strikes.  Minor League is for girls age 9-10.  Players age 11 are permitted to play down to Minor League with approval from Holly Little League, but will not be eligible to pitch, be selected for All-Star teams, nor District post-season play.  The standard Little League Softball diamond (40-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and a standard softball is used during play.  This Division of softball will typically play within the Quadtown association of Little Leagues meaning that there will be travel games to other cities.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 6 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.  Game nights are Tuesday and Thursday each week.

 

 

Major League

Major League is for girls age 11-12 with postseason tournament opportunities, including a World Series. The standard Little League Softball diamond (40-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and a standard softball is used during play.  This Division of softball will typically play within the Quadtown association of Little Leagues meaning that there will be travel games to other cities.  Each team will play 12 games during the regular season followed by a post season.  Games last for 6 innings.  All games begin at 6:30pm.
